Shirley Mosby, The Board of Education, The PTOC.........Will it ever end?
It seems that the Shirley Mosby narrative has received more attention than almost any other story coming from our local Board of Education. We have to admit, here at NorwalkSpeaks, that we feel this continuing saga has gone way way way over the top. Now the PTOC is involved. PTOC/Partisan stance? Please weigh in with your feelings.

I don't know if it will ever end... but it needs to end. This nonsense (from all sides!) takes away from the good things that are happening in the schools as well as detracting from some of things we need to improve. Forget the fact that any sane person would steer clear of applying for the superintendent's job with all this animosity going around.
ReplyDeleteAdults need to start acting like adults. We teach kids that you have to work with people you don't necessary like (or necessarily respect)... now it's time for the adults to do the same. They need to get over themselves and get on to the business of making the schools a better place for the kids.
I second that!

ReplyDeleteAt Barbis' first court appearance on Nov. 19, Judge Maureen Dennis issued an order of protection for a child of Barbis. The judge also issued an additional order of protection for a family member with an otherwise unspecified relationship to him. Neither order told Barbis he needed to stay away from the other parties, although that was an option available to the judge.
On each "Order of Protection" form, two boxes were checked off, one of which indicated he must give up any firearms he may own. The other stated: "Do not assault, threaten, abuse, harass, follow, interfere with or stalk the protected person."
The orders of protection are indefinite until "further order of the court."

Why has this been overlooked for 3 years?
no supervision, and yet the deputy who is supposed to retire is working on a deal to be a consultant.

ReplyDeleteIt is my understanding that the Deputy is absolutely not interested in coming back to Norwalk after retirement.
ReplyDeleteWord is the deputy has been approached by three other districts. The new superintendent will have no one to help. You can't take what Rivera wanted and go forward with it; Even the pre-school on Allen Rd. isn't going to happen. The Briggs project never happened(building), PTech is in trouble, After The Bell was not able to be funded by Title 1. It will be funded for one year, however no one knows about the future. All Rivera had was a vision.
ReplyDeleteHe was the best we had in a very long time. The deputy, working with the terrible trio, helped block his progress at every opportunity. And they've left us with nothing.
ReplyDelete12:49, That is the lie that has been promulgated by the Apples for awhile now. T'Ain't true! Rivera bypassed the deputy and was working with the Union the whole time. Stop believing what you have heard.
ReplyDeleteHe had to bypass him in order to get things done. Meanwhile, ammunition was strategically fed to certain board members. They used this to bring initiatives and business to a grinding halt.
ReplyDeleteAre you serious? Things came to a grinding halt? Everything Rivera wanted got passed by the Board. All his buddies were hired. I hear Rivera is still working behind the scenes now to make sure his buddies are going to be okay. You have no idea whatsoever what transpired! You have no idea what Rivera was about.
