By request, it seems our bloggers want to hear more about the GE meeting. So far we understand that some of the groupies are trying to create important jobs for themselves and that there is much commotion about the 'chutzpa' of the group promoting themselves. Please add to our base knowledge while I continue to ask questions from those in the know....
I DON'T FEEL THE G E CONNECTION IS AN IMPORTANT TOPIC TO DISCUSS. I FEEL SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT WOULD BE OUR POTENTIAL NEW HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR FOR THE SCHOOL SYSTEM.(A.K.A THE CRAIG CONNECTION), IN CASE YOU HAVE ALL FORGOTTEN, I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO REFRESH YOUR MEMORIES. HE CAME, GRACED US WITH HIS PRESENCE FOR A FEW MONTHS, DECIDED TO BAIL IN A BIG BUDGET CRISIS, AND NOW MARKS WANTS TO WELCOME HIM WITH OPEN ARMS AS THE NEW H.R DIRECTOR.
ReplyDeleteIM NOT SURE IF ANYONE HAS ANY BACKGROUND ON THIS MAN OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT HE CHANGES CAREER POSITIONS WITH IN THE STATE SO MANY TIMES PEOPLE TEND TO LOSE COUNT. KEEP IN MIND, IF HE DOES DECIDE TO PLOP BACK IN THE CITY OF NORWALK, WOULDN'T HE BE LEAVING ANOTHER DISTRICT HIGH AND DRY? OH WELL, THAT'S NOTHING NEW.
THIS IS ALSO SOMEONE WHO LEFT THE CITY WITH A HUGE CHUNK OF CHANGE PAID OUT BY THE NORWALK B.O.E! ISN'T ANYONE QUESTIONING THIS? TAX PAYERS? ANYONE?
Looks like there are lots of important topics to discuss. I will honor these requests one at a time and create different threads. If I fail to remember a request, just remind me. By the way, if we anger people, it shows we hit a nerve. That's a good thing. Let those people answer the tough questions;we deserve answers. We pay their salaries and they are responsible for our kids. No more behind the closed door meetings. No more secrets! We were promised transparency and now we are demanding it!
ReplyDeleteNO MORE BEHIND THE DOOR MEETINGS? HA! THAT WILL BE THE DAY! WE PAY THESE PEOPLES SALARIES TO SIT AROUND AND GOSSIP, AND WRITE ABOUT EACHOTHER ANONYMOUSLY IN BLOGS.
ReplyDeleteI saw the slideshow that the GE people presented (it was included in the BoE meeting packs and you can see it on the BoE part of the school dept. website).
ReplyDeleteDid you know, we have great teachers on the elementary level? But, we don't have consistent teaching at the middle and high schools- wow, that's a freakin' news flash. It's funny how they don't really find any fault with Supt. Marks, but point out problems with how principals work and how they manage their teachers. Funny but I always thought that the superintendent was supposed to manage and lead those administrators.
There is some odd slide about how the BoE and Supt. Marks need to understand their roles-- what do they mean? Is there anything the Rookie has tried to do (other than hire her friends when there was no money) that the BoE stopped?
The only good thing about this GE Report is that taxpayers didn't pay for it.
I have heard that at least a couple of Board of Ed members have complained the GE report was supposed to be about how Norwalk could switch over to the Common Core State Standards, but that the report became an effort to show how great Susan Marks, how nothing is her fault and how the big bad Board of Ed is micromanaging her. I don't know-- I don't know.
ReplyDeletePlus, I also heard that GE isn't even paying for the report--- that the non-profits who think Susan Marks is faboo are footing the bills. Is that true?
