Does anyone know who testified at the grievance hearing where the previous Director of Elementary Ed is grieving that she should have been placed in a director's position?
Why should you care? If it doesn't pertain to you then whydo you ask? Seems like we put out topics just to ask for trouble. Let's worry about important things like what is good for education and kids. Frankly, no one's business.
A concerned parent and taxpayer who is tired of such nonsense!
lol you keep going and going, like the energizer bunny dude! you act like its a murder trial. shut up already. you sound repetitive, and its annoying. who really cares who testified for her?! i know i don't! who even cares about this "trial" anyway.
why is this such an issue for this blog? it doesn't matter it is none of anyone's business who testified for whom. it is not Judge Judy and People's Court. Some matters like this do not belong on this blog. There are those who just have no life and want to have everything public.
It would seem that maybe you should be working on this blog to solve the educational budget problems in Norwalk --
What puzzles many of us here, I suspect, is why you are on this thread or blog in the first place? Do you not have a life and want to intimidate others with your not so important title? Get a life!
Someone is working very hard to supress this information. I wonder why? Yes, it is important information because if this grievance is won, then the former Director of Elementary Education becomes the Director of Technology. It sets a precedent, in my opinion. She has no background in technology, according to what people have posted on this blog. If she wins the grievance, other administrators would have the same rights, qualified or not for the job for which they are applying. Soooooo back to the question of who testified for her? It's beginning to sound like it might be someone way up there......
blah blah blah. do you stop? WHO GIVES 2 FLIES OF A FUDGSICLE!! who cares if that woman applies for the president of the U.S?! its very appearent you cant stand her. so why do you care who and who does not have her back? are you scared its a mutual friend of yours? are you scared that someone might throw your identity under the bus? pipe down, everyones over your comments pal.
how do you know so much? do you have any idea of the ins and outs of people's qualifications, unless you have inside information; which you shouldn't. in addition if someone as an administrator has rights they should be exercised--and that is why administrators and other unions pay dues. If a process is not followed properly then it should be righted accordingly to rights and law. if you understood process you would not be so concerned about who testified--because that is not even the process. why does everything have to be so public? These processes are not public. Having been a union member, and understanding the contract, I know that for sure. So let things go, stop the nonsense. worry about what is happening with other things in the district.
Many years in the system...as an administrator I find this absurd.
If you find it absurd, 7:08 AM, then why are you even reading this blog? As far as where I am getting my information, it's from the other threads. Read them yourself to see the qualifications, or lack thereof, of this person. Someone said the only qualification she had was as an H.R. Person for a computer company. Are you saying that's not true? Set the record straight for us if you know better.
who CARES about her back ground, present or future? why do you care? why do you keep discussing topics that do not need to be on this blog. if you care about this topic, discuss it on your own time. dont discuss it on a blog where us parents of students in the high school and middle schools can see this DRAMA. at the end of the day, thats what it is is plain drama. someone brings up a topic to pretty much discuss someone they dont like, and get all excited or hot and bothered when people join the "i hate the former director of elem ed" parade! that is really what this topic was amde for. I dont even know this lady from a hole in the wall, and im tired of hearing about her.
Wow! Did anyone notice the replies to this thread, on a Saturday, no less, were posted at 8:52 AM, 8:53 AM, and 8:59 AM. What a coincidence!!! No surprise it's the same person who is doing all this complaining! Sorry, but it doesn't work. At least have the intelligence to wait an hour or two before posting the next complaint. We are not stupid. And don't bother denying it. If you don't like what is written, stop reading! Freedom of speech for us!
Does anyone know that the current Director of IT was given 20 days a year to work from home? This was approved by the BOE members and Dr.Marks. The tax payers of Norwalk are paying for this. Someone needs to look into this!
Thank you for admitting to the truth about your posts. As for being a male, well you sure write like a female. As for calling me a moron.....I expect nothing intelligent from you. I do wonder why you care so much about this topic, though. Almost sounds like you are personally involved????
Does that mean all administrators get 20 days to work from home? Looks like precedents are being set in many ways. So if the former Director of Elementary Ed wins the grievance, I guess that means she gets the 20 days to work from home too? Wow! The so-called teacher's pet could wind up with a plum job! What an interesting piece of information!
If their contract has RIF (reduction in force) language, then why is there any controversy? If the current Director won language to allow 20 days of working from home, then the onus is on the administrator that originally approved his hiring agreement. Any one of you would fight for your contract to be honored if it was breached. I'm not saying I think it's great language, but contract is contract. Unfortunately we have/had people in the system who didn't negotiate well or didn't follow due process. That is what creates this type of drama. It's not "teacher's pet" or "plum jobs". It's a result of incompetence upon the admins part. The business practice of the Central Office admins leave a lot to be desired. None of this behavior would ever be tolerated in the public work sector. This type of gross incompetence would lead to a dismissal. How does the BOE respond? I really don't know...it just is allowed to continue...
The contract has Reduction in Force language, but specifies that the person must be qualified for the job that is offered. This is why there is controversy. People appear to know that this person has no expertise in computers. The current Director of IT, who would be laid off, has the expertise.
Just curious...what are the job requirements? Where would one find them? And, wouldn't the Dir. of IT then be moved or RIFFED to the position currently held by the griever? Is expertise in computing a requirement or the ability to implement technology in the curriculum? As a Director granular tech skills would be wasted, the IT staff should have the expertise and look to a Director for vision, policy and guidance in implementing technology in the district.
Someone else will have to post the job requirements, but I believe the IT Director is not qualified to take the position now held by the person grieving this issue. Ironic, right? I hope someone does post the requirements. If the district needs someone with vision, policy and who will provide guidance, I think we have heard that this person did not have that in her former job. Someone in the Board even mentioned that the position wasn't working. The only 'vision' we saw was a vegetable garden. I am only reposting what I read in other threads, so, again, perhaps others will confirm or deny what has been posted. I can only state my opinion that I would rather have someone at the helm of IT who provides expertise in the use of computers, not someone who needs to learn on the job!
I will say that Mr. Daddona has the right to sue you for libel 9:43, because I can assure you that I am not he. I should let him know that you are accusing him of writing here.
I've met the current IT director. Biggest BS Artist I've ever met. Any change in this leadership would be more positive than what is currently being portrayed by this guy.
From another IT specialist in a public school system.
I'm a parent and a taxpayer who is aghast at the behavior my tax dollars are funding. If this blog is any indication of how many of you spend your time, then I am quite delighted that the common council held the cap at 2.8%. Obviously, none of you have enough real work to do because you are busy gossiping about colleagues. Dreadful! It is interesting that there are few 'comments' on any blogs of substance...unless it involves personal grudges. Moina had to shut her blog down because it got so nasty. I wonder if educated yesterday feels if he/she is helping the cause or allowing folks to just spew. Very disappointing.
Like this is a Sunday, grumpy person. Do you expect employees to be working today? And like, spewing is good for the gut. Maybe we feel better by having a place to spew. I say spew forth and lower your blood pressure 5:03. Sounds like you need to let loose once in a while.Chill or go knit something. That's probably more your generation.
To blogger 5:03, I totally agree with you. After reading the salaries in The Norwalk Daily, I also have to wonder if some of these professionals (????) have enough to keep themselves busy. Our school children are suffering because of all this nonsense. There are more important issues to deal with than bad-mouthing certain employees. Enough is ENOUGH!!!
Who said these are the teachers responding on this thread? It could be parents or other taxpayers? Jumping to the conclusion that these are the professionals answering in this manner is irresponsible. Or maybe a certain person wants this thread to go away? Are you the superintendent or the director? Something smells very fishy in Blogsville.
I am the person who's comment was linsulted and who was called a professional. I want to apologize to like the teachers cause I am not like a teacher. I didn't want to get you guys in trouble. Someone was just being really mean. I just wanted to say it was a Sunday and employees in school don't work on Sunday so they could write in all they want here.
since you care so much, why didnt you testify?
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone is angry. Geeeeeee I wonder who?
ReplyDeleteMust have been a person of interest, given the reaction. Now I am eager to hear who testified on her behalf.
ReplyDelete5:36 AM, there are reasons why many of us were not there. Enuf said?
