When there is no transparency, rumors do fly fast and furiously. This is the case in Norwalk. What is the truth?
1. Will there be a 5-4 vote on the BoE for this candidate?
2. Is this candidate someone who already knows that he (or she) has the appointment before a vote? How long has the candidate known this?
3. Is this person a retiree or someone from out of state?
4. Will this candidate push the Core Knowledge agenda of the Red Apples?
5. Was there a secret meeting of the Haynie group with this person?
These are the rumors. What is the truth???
NO transparency! Forcing curriculum by noneducators, secret meetings, appointing a superintendent with no site visit = lack of respect for educators, lack of respect for taxpayers, mismanagement of Board of Education members' roles......BULLIES!
ReplyDeleteBullies and hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that the "nicest" person on the Board (Keyes) is the one that gives all the power to the Angry Four. If she remembered why she got elected, she'd stop supporting the Angry Four.
Heidi is true to herself - she always votes on what's best for the kids. Imagine if the rest did the same?
ReplyDeleteWhat is best for kids is to give t the certified, professional educators the right to choose the curriculum. The best interest for kids is not to force Core Knowledge. How can you possibly say this group led by Haynie works in the best interest for kids? She doesn't have anything more than a high school diploma! Are you really saying she is qualified to know what is in the best interest of kids?
ReplyDeleteDo we really know they are "pushing" Core Knowledge, just because they wanted to see a presentation?
ReplyDeleteNothing on the Red Apples Website pushing CK and Lyons says in Nancy on Norwalk that comments on this blog were 'hallucinatory' when it came to the ELA curriculum or even the super search.
ReplyDeleteSo why hasn't the Board been transparent about the Superintendent search? Why hasn't anyone answered the question:, has there been a site visit? Calling questions posed on a blog 'hallucinatory' does not answer the questions asked. Mr. Lyons, answer the question, please. Has there been a site visit for the candidate about to be appointed?
