Lauren Rosato and Sue Haynie are very actively involved in the campaign to rid the Board of the three minorities. Interesting that this is political for the secretary of the PTOC. They want their BoE seats. Sue Haynie lost her Board seat to one of the minorities. Do you really think the move by the predominantly Apple filled PTOC is not political? Guarantee you one or both of these women will run next election.
Here's a question for you. The turmoil written about everywhere, caused by the overblown REACTiONS to the three ladies on the BOE, is being read by the foundations that grant millions to Norwalk schools. Does anyone think these foundations will continue to pour money into a school system whose parents are at war with each other and with the school system? This war is being fueled by the hatred of the Apples for not only the three members on the Board, but also for the Deputy Superintendent, the Principal of Kendall School and the Principal of West Rocks School. The foundations are going to take their money and run!
The PTOC is going to evaluate Board of Education members. Only the executive Board of the PTOC divulged their names. How does one find the list of members? How many members are there? Where is the transparency in knowing who is on this council? No one will answer my questions on NON about whether anyone on this council is someone who is interested in running for the Board. I can't even get a list of members from those who write on NON. Doesn't that concern anyone or are you all rolling over and letting this group run Norwalk? Marjorie
NORWALK By LAUREN MYLO Hour Staff Writer In a letter to the editor today, a former Norwalk PTO President reproached the Norwalk Education Foundation and the PTO Council for endorsing political candidates through e-mail messages. However, NEF director Lauren Rosato and PTOC treasurer Jennifer Covello said the letter from Wiltonian Irene Sikorski is false. "We have never done it before and will never do it," said Rosato. "That's not our mission; we're a non profit charity. We do not endorse candidates." Covello said it's against the PTOC by-laws to endorse political candidates and noted PTOC President Sue Haynie, who is running on the Parents not Politicians slate for the Board of Education, stepped down from her position to avoid conflict of interest. "We have sent out e-mails about debates and community conversations and encouraged people to participate, but it's just passing along information," said Covello. "We're not endorsing candidates. We're just endorsing people (the public) to get informed."
NORWALK -- Lauren Rosato is well acquainted with the third floor of City Hall. In between the office suites that house the school district's central office, Rosato had an office of her own while serving a six-year tenure as president of the Norwalk Education Foundation (NEF). She stepped down in 2012 due to "financial considerations." Then, she said she wasn't done being involved in the schools. Now, the Parent Teacher Organization Council executive secretary and REd APPLES co-founder is running for the Board of Education on the Republican ticket. Matt Coyne - Norwalk Hour 2013

Prior to joining the BOE, I was the Norwalk PTO Council (PTOC) president and PTOC vice president, and I was also the director of NorwalkSEEKS, a non-profit focused on special education and reading disabilities, information and advocacy. Prior to having school-age children, I owned and managed two restaurants.' Nancy on Norwalk
The PTOC is made up of RedApples and people who want to run for the Board of Education. That's their agenda for evaluating the currant Board of Education members.
Irene Sikorski is retired. Why is she still involved with NPS staff and voicing her opinion? Yes, I know anyone can voice their opinion on this blog. Oh well
I believe the references in all of these comments are from past articles. They are here to connect the PTOC, the Red Apples and people who have been candidates for the BOE. The PTOC is now going to evaluate Board members, but claim there is no agenda. You can make up your own mind if there is a connection.
