No, Adamowski is not currently employed as a superintendent. There was no reason not to introduce him to the public for questions. Don't forget Corda on down was introduced to the public.
Obviously Adamowski knows Rivera quite well. Will he return the favor to Rivera by using Rivera's companies in Norwalk? Rivera has been involved in the superintendent's search from the beginning, but NOT the staff or the public.
From what I have read, he does not get along with teachers, does spend huge amounts of money, hires friends, turns all schools into charter schools, gets rid of bilingual Ed, and demands major bonuses. Be prepared!
Interestingly, I didn't see anything in the agreement about a penalty if he leaves before the contract expires. Did see his $250,000 salary, plus car allowance, plus potential for bonuses plus lots of vacation and sick time, much of which he can carry over from year to year.
No one is giving us information the details of his contract. Is there a bonus for staying? Where are the details?
"Quite frankly, having an uninformed populace works extremely well, particularly when you have a media that doesn't understand its responsibility and feels more like it's an arm of a political party. They can really take advantage of an uninformed populace."
I have to wonder if the general public in Norwalk have become so complacent that they are willing to hire a superintendent who does not have a superintendent's certification, but a letter of a waiver dated 2007(?) ? What does that say about whether parents care what happens in the public schools. This highly controversial candidate is going to be appointed tonight. Only the Apple organization has been heard from. Where are the rest of the taxpayers?
Moving on, I hear Mike Barbis and Bruce Mellion are great friends. Remember when Steve C. And Mellion were accused of being friends? That friendship was blasted all over the place. Now it's okay? Why? Because he is an Apple?
Parents have no say in the choice? Do we live in a city with an authoritarian government?
ReplyDeleteNo, we live in a representative democracy, where the people elect the Board of Ed and the Board of Ed makes these decisions.

Here come charter schools!
According to his resume posted on NoN, Adamowski spends no more than 4 years at any of his superintendent jobs.
