Miscellaneous

We have all had our fill of Haynie, but she is up to something other than trying to make Daddona's life miserable. I am predicting that she will want Bob McCain back as the new superintendent. She needs a good friend in that position again.................... Next up, I hear the administrators are happy with the leadership style that the interim is displaying........................... Also, accountability is the word being heard everywhere. Sounds good to me............. As for the principal on special assignment, my informers believe the problem was that she had glowing evaluations for every year except the last. Her evaluators were Hugh McKiernan and Carol Maranacchio prior to last year. The Board made the decision to move her to central office. That's all the news I have for now.

  1. Principal on special assignment-- if Marks evaluated her and met with many teachers with many complaints about her, it's shameful that she wasn't fired. Sad that so many teachers were lied to by Supt. Marks who had promised to help them.
Interim Supt. Daddona has lots of potential-- he will redeem himself for lots of us old timers by keeping up his clean-up operation. With luck, he will be able to continue a rescue operation. I always thought that we had enough qualified administrators who needed to know that the dead wood would be removed.
As for McCain- no way he'll even apply. I don't see anyone wanting to come into a superintendent's job with at least 3 votes against him or her.
The biggest news is the crisis at Norwalk High- most accounts indicate the new guy is overwhelmed already. My prediction- he'll be the next one to flee to Maryland.

  2. File under "miscallaneous"- thanks for the dedication of Norwalk's teachers. Despite tough conditions at the schools, they are coming back ready and eager to help our kids.

  3. Why does the Republican party continue to support Haynie? Why do they allow her to associate with them? She is a major problem for the party. Mayor, are you paying attention to your loose canon and what she is doing ?

  4. To anonymous 10:39.... why shouldn't the teachers be back ready and eager, nothing happened to them! It was the rest of the school employees that were touched. What's with the poor teachers in chicago? AWWW don't like longer days, 8% raise over 3 years is not enough and different method of evaluating. It gets me sick to my stomach!
