I was touched by the pleas made by South Norwalk parents about the lack of activities/places to go in South Norwalk for their children. Mayor Rilling appeared to be very willing to help, as did all the participants who attended the meeting in South Norwalk. This is a very good thing. In my opinion, these activities are much needed. I would like to add that with all the problems in South Norwalk, and all the parents working three jobs, parenting is most difficult. However, some parents are better than others even given the number of jobs they work. Perhaps courses for parents at their places of worship are needed. Parent(s) need to effectively discipline (some of) the kids who join gangs and get in trouble. Parent(s) need to know where their kids are. Our children are our priorities. Some parents in South Norwalk don't have control of their kids. I'm also aware that there are parents everywhere who do not have control of their kids, but we are talking about a specific meeting in South Norwalk, so let's start there, where parents are asking for help. Any suggestions?
