By now you know this blog remains completely anonymous. It is here for you. It is here to separate truth from fiction. It is here to provide transparency in the school system. Add your comments and questions freely and without worry.
that mole has been there 3 years. what has been accomplished at CO? now he is in a position created by supt. just for him so he doesn't lose out on pension? BOE? where are you? or don't you care?????
The BOE is busy creating their own fairy tales. They are infatuated by the superintendent who is doing to Norwalk exactly what he did to Rochester. Can we predict a k-8 school next? He has created the same programs in Norwalk, the same central office positions for his friends, the same alliances with the teachers' union. Norwalk is not Rochester. It would be great if this superintendent targeted the specific needs of Norwalk instead of xeroxing the plan for Rochester and duplicating it. BOE, you really don't care!
Can someone please explain to me why this always happens in Norwalk? Whether it be a superintendent, a principal or teacher. Seems like poor choices are being made all over the district. Why do we hire people and then find they are not competent or are cheating the system, then we create "people on special assignment" in the CO. By that time it's difficult to get rid of them. Come on Norwalk, step up to the plate!!!!
maybe the chair who spends so much time on the NON website responding to comments would come here and do the same. What is happening at the high school? Why have they not made a change? As a taxpayer, I am appalled that we continue to have very inept leadership, and the school is in such a mess.
According to Rivera at the Rowaton School meeting, the Assistant Principals, who were moved over to the position title Directors of Curriculum, are on a grant that is only funded for two years. If I were in their shoes, I would be out looking for another job in a district that doesn't play games with the budget. There is no way those positions can be funded through the local budget.
there are 12 of these positions. If you do the math, with benefits etc, it is over 2million. How ridiculous. Also the grant they were taken from may not even be ethical. Someone needs to ask the question. Did they change names and roles just to satisfy the hiring of these people? If so, the district could be in more jeopardy with an audit. How is it that no one at the BOE asks the right questions? This is another band-aid.
Why not ponder over what is happening at the secondary level? At NHS there is a real mess, coaches brought in to help the leader, because he can't lead, the technology academy has a leader with no experience, the alternative high school has less than 50, and the faculty are tripping over themselves. Morale is in the toilet in the district. School after school has issues. At the elementary level there are issues, middle schools have leadership issues that are never dealt with. Yikes, as taxpayers, what are we getting back?
Is Mike Lyons in hiding? The Nationally Recognized Superintendent is a disaster. Is Lisa Thomson in hiding? Where are those Apples who thought this man was going to greatly improve everything in Norwalk? It's disaster upon disaster now. Mike? Lisa? Where are you now?
Where is the technology plan? Who is accountable? The VP for Global??? Did Norwalk not learn from 10 years ago? We had many technology disasters under this leader and now we have more. Power school...there is no power in that. Norwalk buys the technology based on what? Where is the training to make this work for everyone? Oh, watch a video that is the answer you get from technology leader. Really.... Our biggest answer to technology upgrades are Chrome Books... As educators it is insulting, as taxpayers it is bad use of money...where are the powers that be? Can't you see what is happening or are you so buffaloed over the "political rhetoric" that continues to go on?
There is a mole in central office and we know who it is. This person comes around, eats and socializes. Too bad Norwalk is not Danbury!

ReplyDeleteNotice no BOE member wants to respond to these facts. They can't respond because there is no defense. They screwed up!

It most certainly is!!!! Without a doubt!!
DeleteThe chairperson of the Board is a coward for not addressing what is wrong in the NPS. There is a lot wrong. Own it, Mr. Mike.

My guess is, if you read the 2015-2016 budget recommendations, you will see:
Delete6. Teacher Aides
◦Evaluate utilization and effectiveness
That's where the cuts will be made so that the Assistant Principals will be funded.
