  1. Here's what is getting my goat . . .we won't have full time library aides in the elementary schools in the fall. Why are the Republicans and Bruce Kimmel claiming that everything is perfect in our schools?

  2. Big argument going on in the Nancy on Norwalk blog. Hop on over to support whatever side you are on. Lisa Thomson is on the warpath!

  3. Wow that argument is crazy. When will this town learn. Politics are destroying this city from the inside out.
The BOE has trash running for office.
The Dems running for mayor, stand for nothing. Matt, is the only one to outline a plan, and granted he basically attacks the budget, and Oak Hills.
Vinny, Rilling, and Andy are as silent as church mice on all important things.
Vinny aligns himself with 4 thugs, in Simms, Pena Watts, and Brown. All have checker pasts with arrests and suspensions of wrongful deeds.
Andy is a nice guy but, personality isn't gonna take it over a track record.
Rilling is simple Moccia Squared! I'd prefer the original!

Hopefully the next election in Nov. will bring in some new talent, ideas and personalities.

  4. Do we need new ideas or a new tone on the BoE?

  5. Does anyone think Moccia is good for education? My gut is telling me that the guy looks at schools as a place to throw some pizza parties. Am I wrong?

  6. Are any of the candidates for Mayor good for education? I really don't know. I only know a out the Board candidates and the troublemaker, Haynie. She has changed the tone on the Board.

  7. The Mayor lost is way. The second he supported Haynie for re-election, I knew he wasn't for the families with kids in school.

  8. Discredit my opinion all you want, but I'm a teacher and here goes--- there is a huge need to change the curriculum for teaching English Language Arts. The "Curriculum Committee" gets a report from the experts and they refuse to do anything with it.
That's Mike Lyons, Sue Haynie and Mike Barbis (with support from the RedApples) stopping education. Pure and simple. School will start without the best possible program for the students. Easy to blame Haynie, Lyons and Barbis. Rivas spoke out at the Curriculum meeting. Colarossi has made his support known publicly. But where is the rest of the BOE?

    1. Bravo to you for speaking out! I fully support what you are saying.

    2. What has happened to our school district? Teachers feel that have to start comments by admitting that they are "teachers". I guess being a trained teacher became a bad think once we had a superintendent who had never taught and a curriculum committee chairperson who never graduated from college.

  9. The Red Apples happened. They are a group of a few people who have no background in education, but think they know it all. Many of our teachers have advanced degrees, but are not respected.

  10. I want to learn about all the candidates for BOE. Can this blog give us all their websites?

  11. Good suggestion. I will start a new topic and ask candidates to add their websites.
