Back to School

So much will change with a new superintendent! There are many new administrators on board as well. Will we be seeing "Master Adamowski" or "Superintendent Adamowski?"

What comments would you like to make on any NPS topic?

  2. We don't have a teacher's lounge at my school. They shrunk the teacher's lunchroom so much (to make the student lunchroom larger) that most of us eat in our classrooms.

    1. That is so wrong! Is there anything in the teachers' contract that says a room should be provided for you for lunch? If not, there should be. Teachers deserve it.

  3. When the person at central office in charge of everything keeps assigning more and more students and sections to a school, when there are no classrooms left, the teachers' lounge gets moved to a big closet and then eliminated. This is what happens when there is no regard to capacity, residence claims go unchallenged, and no one backs building based administration.

It is even worse for aides and clerical staff. They have nowhere to eat lunch, make a phone call, or take a fifteen minute break. One elementary school has been in that situation for many years. And this is not addressed in the NFT Agreement.

And the same person was running the show all this time, between superintendents, between interms, as interim, and as deputy. Let the complaining begin.

    1. Wait, the Deputy was never in charge of facilities. That person, the Director of Facilities, reports directly to the superintendent.

  4. it will only get worse. People in power that should not be. People just appointed. Is it not of concern that we just hired a Chief of Academics, that did not even stay 7 months on the job he came from.
But he knows The chief of partnerships, technology, and a partridge in a pear tree. Out of districts are a mess, technology becoming more and more of a debacle. New program, no training, no announcement, but it continues on. How about the high schools? What is going on, and where is the NEASC Report, and is the other high school getting ready? How about the Supt's latest report to the BOE? Look at the graduation rates of Briggs?
As a taxpayer, I am appalled!

    1. The Board of Education should be ashamed of themselves! Mike Lyons doesn't appear to have a clue about what is going on. Time for new Board do Ed members.

    2. How does the new guy know ralph???

100 says that the new species ed person ends up being connected to him or the old super.

    3. I agree. I would bet $100 also that there is a connection. That's how these guys work.

Not only that, but I'm betting special Ed costs skyrocket. Taxpayers beware!

BTW, these positions were called for in the budget the Board adopted unanimously back in January, thus pre-dating any thought of Dr. Adamowski being hired by months. They are part of the strategic reorganization of the central office to improve management.". Nancy on Norwalk

  6. Special Education costs, new building costs, new administrators, the money needed will be in the millions.

  7. I thought Rivera was on top of everything. Apparently he was way off the mark. He was definitely not what he was promised to be.

  8. Is anyone in charge of SPED right now? If so, who. If not, why not especially since it is in such bad shape. (If it's incompetent Ralphie I may puke)

    1. What a good question. I don't know, but I don't think it is RV. It might be one of the SPED specialists, or at least I hope so. Ralph is in charge of everything else. There must be a pact between Rivera, Lyons and Adamowski to protect him. One has to laugh how the "new" incompetents get protected; there was such rage over the so-called incompetence of the administrators "they" wanted to get rid of. Elect a new Board of Education! Elect a Board who will address the "new" incompetents and find really competent replacements, please.

  9. I'd still like to know why they are protecting him. What was his reason for leaving the first time?

    1. I believe he left the first time to join Manny's private company.

    2. And on his way out he was very publically bashing NPS... if it was anyone else saying some of the things he say, they would have burned all their bridges here and never rehired.

    3. What was he saying and to whom?

  10. The people on this blog are pathetic. Why don't you do yourselves (and the rest of us) a favor, and all resign. The removal of your negative energy from NPS could probably double its performance in a year. Leave it to positive people.

  11. What do you have against the truth? You must love spin, but not the truth. We have real problems in the NPS. Someone needs to address the problems, because the Apples on the BOE aren't doing anything except spinning the negatives. Want the truth? You get it here.
