More on Debates

Since the debates are ongoing, I assumed the discussions would be ongoing....Take the topic where you want to go....

  1. Here are my suggestions-
    1. let the moderator ask for clarification and give each party the right to ask the other questions.
    2. Go Lincoln-Douglas!
    3. Try to find candidates who know a little something about the issues.

  2. Looking forward to the E debate.
Barbis needs to explain how he "knew" that Supt. Marks wasn't planning on leaving because of family reasons. I hope Geoff goes in armed with all of Barbis' facebook posts and forces Barbis to explain.

  3. For my money, I'll be watching the debate in A. I want to see if the aloof Rosa who lost 2 years ago shows up or if we'll see the kinder gentler Rosa.
Can any one tell me if they think I'm nuts but I would vote for Rosa as long as I don't think there's a chance she'd be chairperson? I just think she did a lousy job waiting so long to start the superintendent search and I wasn't a fan of how she ran those budget meetings.
But I like the fact that she provides solid input during meetings.

  4. I am definitely voting for Rosa. She really cares about the kids and shows it.

  5. 1:07 AM- I'm a little conflicted like you.
I really had no faith in the BoE when the Dems were in charge-- don't know how if much of that was Ms. Murray's fault or if she was just a part of the failing majority.
If she doesn't address her past a little during the debates, I think it'll show that she really doesn't think she needs improving.
But I shouldn't be such a pessimist because I am hearing some good things about her work now.

  6. She was chairperson for 4 years and is responsible for the wide achievement gap and decreasing test scores that put us on the list for Districts in need of improvement. Don't kid yourselves! She is in it for Rosa!

2 years ago the voters had enough of her and sent her and her teammates packing. She weaseled her way back on the board.... Don't make the same mistake twice people.

  7. SHE was responsible for the achievement gap and the reason we have been placed on not making annual yearly progress? Wow! I didn't know she was all that powerful! That comment of yours is the single most ridiculous comment I have read here!

  8. Sounds like a red apple who doesn't want Rosa on the Board. Ignore her.
