Clarification, please

I just want to know if this is true. Someone, whose name will remain anonymous, told me that a certain BoE member would not be able to work even as a volunteer in the NPS system because HR would do fingerprints and that person would be told no way. Is this true? This is not an attempt to ruin a person's reputation, just want to know the facts. Any lawyers know the truth?

  1. All I know is that I had to be fingerprinted at the NPD so I could volunteer at my child's school. I had done some stupid stuff as a kid and asked if they were looking for any past criminal offenses.
I was told that the only thing that would prevent me from volunteering (where I'd be alone with the kids) would be if I had an open case involving violence or an open protective order against me-- or if I had committed some really violent crimes in the past.
From what I read in the papers, the new member has some sort of public nuisance rap that's open. I'm no Perry Mason, but I don't think that will stop him from volunteering-- but the librarians might have to remind him to use his "indoor voice".
