Ditrio Proposes Alternate Cuts

Norwalk Hour....................... 'Union leaders, parents discuss alternative budget plan for Norwalk schools' '...removal of of a section at Columbus Magnet School that Ditrio said was made but not included in the budget, and the elimination of the Central Office grants administrator among other things at the high school level. It keeps class sizes under the teachers' union contract-mandated number by adding back 11 elementary school teachers, all the elementary school library aides at reduced hours, an outreach worker, middle school library assistants and 12 combined intervention utility aides.'

  1. Ditrio wants to get rid of the grant administrator for the same reason burglars want fewer policeman.

  2. There is something not right here. Isn't the president of the administrators' union supposed to protect his administrators' jobs, not ask to have them eliminated? The Grants Administrator is in the administrator's union. Couldn't he be sued for not protecting this person?

  3. Grants administration is in a shambles. Negroni is incapable of preparing simple reports. She does a poor job accounting for how grant funds are used.
No union should support waste. It would seem like Ditrio is being a good public servant.

  4. BS, BS & BS! Ditrio is out for Ditrio. Anytime he makes recommendations to eliminate people, they end up being the ones that have opposed him. The ones he hates. The ones he wants to get even with. Just check the records.

  5. Sometimes a union hack does the right thing- not always- but sometimes. If Ditrio wanted to go after an "enemy", he would have suggested cutting the IT Director.
You gotta hand it to all the haters in Norwalk- you people reject any plan if you don't like who presented it. You're the reason we have an ineffective Board of Ed and a Common Council that can't decide on the day of the week.

  7. Ditrio is a very bright man. Unfortunately his brain iappears to be faulty when it comes to executive functioning. He always needs to test the llimits. It is as if he has a death wish for his professional career. This time he went too far. The accumulation of 'testing the limits' finally caught up with him. After enjoying taunting many central office employees for years ( Remember the Assistant Superintendent under Herbert who sued the Board and won), Ditrio was a part of that disaster too. He had his fun with so many at their expense. Now he is on the receiving end and he doesn't like it. What a shame that such a long career will be remembered only for the negatives.

    1. What bizarre thoughts--- I thought this thread was about whether a principal could suggest a budget plan or whether a union president could suggest ending one job to save others.
Who know it was "pop psychology for dummies"?
Listen, insiders, we don't care about old scores being settled. We don't care what happened before Marks came because all we care about is what is going to happen to our kids in their schools.

  8. Most of care about what is going to happen to our kids in their schools. That's why we respond in this thread to agenda filled plans that are conceived by the likes of a Ditrio or Mellion. To expose them for who they are and to educate people about the true core of their plans and motives. You better care what happened before Marks arrived, or history may repeats itself. Hasn't that in itself been one of the major problems with the BOE, Common Council and the Mayor?? They have repeatedly turned their heads to what went on in the past, what worked and didn't work and who the internal enemies have been and remain. Don't you think the enemy just loves the state we are in?? It makes them stronger and gives the appearance that they are the good guys.

  9. We need to know history before we create the future. We need to know what causes the problems in ths dysfunctional school system. If someone has an opinion, psychological, factual, emotional or otherwise, I am listening.

  10. Interesting that Moore and Ditrio are a team now. What could have possessed him to align himself with her?
