Superintendent Search

Do we want a vision that has been created for a district that is not Norwalk? Are we willing to accept a retiree from another state again? Do we want a rookie again? What do we want in our new superintendent other than a great interview? Think about it. We've been accepting a lot of promises and 'words' that don't fit the state's requirements or Norwalk's. We need to realistically face where we are and who can move us forward.

  1. Whoever is Superintendent, I want him and the BOE to represent ALL of Norwalk. I noticed that some of the BOE members did not attend the Martin Luther King activities. Where were Sue H., Mike B., and Jack C.? Everyone else was accounted for. Did anyone else see them? Don't they choose to represent all of Norwalk?

  2. Yikes- so you're saying we have three out of touch Board of Ed members? Sorry but that's not news.
Look at how those three treat parents who don't agree with them. It's sad that we're stuck with Angry Jack and the Rowayton-Reprobate for three more years.

  3. Any one who applies for the Norwalk job will read all of Haynie's cheap attacks on Daddona. Who would want to work for her? For what it's worth, if they want to get top candidates, I think it'll be important for Haynie to announce she won't seek re-election rather than have Daddona announce that he's not going for the top job.

    1. Can you even believe they went in front of a BOE meeting to find out if Daddona is seeking the job? Are they really that desperate? (Apples, I mean) . And I heard one of them wrote in THE HOUR about Daddona applying for the job. (Wallerstein?) Daddona, go for the job! We are tired of the Apples who want only the best only for children who look like them.

  4. I work as a teacher in Norwalk and tried of the act I keep seeing everyday in this town. Nobody wants to step up and make the RIGHT choice.
Instead we allow small groups empowered by Dr. Marks to effect the childern, schools and teachers.
Jack, Sue and Mike B. are truely doing nothing to help anyone. As its been noted before Jack and Sue hate teachers. "You should be luck to have a job"- Jack... really, he's lucky that the teachers conitue to come to work with the hate he sends our way.
Sue hates anyone who is not her. Her mind is a waste. Nothing postive ever! She should resign!
Mike B. has is head up the Red Apples tree. Is he dating Lisa of the "Rotten Apples"? HMMMM.... Where does he get his marching order from now?

All I want to do is teach. I want to help kids learn not be the punch line on a city budget. Lisa of the Red apples can take her "fuzzy math" break down of the budget and cram it.
There are 900 teachers, thats why the salary line item is so high. The police and fire combined dont total 325. That a simple reason the budget is bigger.
I am not an "average teacher" I put in more hours than my salary accounts for. Many teachers i know have multiple jobs, work free hours at thier schools but the Red Apples and some on the BOE will never know or understand.
Is the NFT perfect, no, but when they are able to work with the BOE the budget cuts are covered through early retirements and the like.

  5. I'm sure that some of the smart folks can explain something to me. The Apples were screaming that the sky was falling because the BoE took 2 weeks to hire the search firm. But, it's been a couple of months but there hasn't been a single focus group meeting with the "community". So, you know my question-- WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE?
Is it a crisis ONLY when BOE members (who aren't Apples) act independently and don't ask "how high" when they tell them to jump?

    1. You are right. I have been asking the same question. The Sky is Falling Apples need to be squashed from above. Are you listening. Mr. mayor?
