  1. I hope staff, parents, and community members can weigh in. There is such a level of frustration on the part of staff in the district. Everyone puts on the happy face, but behind the scenes staff is very unhappy and at many of the schools. This should be a red flag to the superintendent, but it isn't apparently.
by the way where is the superintendent?
At the elementary level there is upheaval over literacy initiatives and lack of support in math, middle schools have their own, and at the high schools, "what is this with block scheduling and why?"
    will this be another disaster?
Central office...can we hire any more? Will CO need an annex to house everyone?

  2. I am glad you told it the way it is. Thank you! Where is the superintendent in addressing this mess?

  3. How come many see the picture...but few to respond. More have to tell it the way it is. Strength in numbers and voice.
There are many veterans in the district that have seen it all. New plans, new ideas, poor implementation, continued good ole boys club...and the average taxpayer is blind to where their hard earned dollars go.
Unfortunately, not for the kids. Big salaries, more overhead expenses, and yet no substance.
    Speak up colleagues.

  4. Here's my assessment:
    1. It's not what you know, but who you know when it comes to getting a job in NPS
    2. When some teachers say during the first week of school, OMG only 178 days to go?!!
    3. What's going on when so many teachers don't report to work on a given day? Disgusted with the system perhaps?
    4. Why were jobs lost, hours cut, yet more people are hired at the CO at a huge salary?
    5. Why are so many incompetent folks taken from their positions and put in CO as "employee on special assignment"?
Why, why, why? Someone please answer these questions with a solid, intellectual answer!!!

  5. You're never going to get it here. This isn't a place for dialogue, just complaining and potshots. And BTW, I agree with everything you said.

  6. 9:48 PM, You are certainly in the right place considering that was a complaint and a potshot.
To the blogger with the request for dialogue, here's my 2 cents:
So much is about politics and who you know in this world, it does not surprise me that this administration has taken advantage of "the way things are." Yes, there is still an old boys network. It will always be thus.
As for teachers being unprofessional, I think there will always be those teachers who work for the paycheck and the summer off. That there are more teachers doing so now speaks to the lack of respect by the higher ups and the low morale in the district. Professionalism is dying in this country. How could it survive when the incompetents are given central office positions, and not fired. Anyone want to continue the dialogue or debate my opinion. Welcome all!
