Everyone is Quitting

We have lost more administrators than in any time in Norwalk's history. What is going on?

  1. Any administrator who can get out is getting out. Norwalk has become the last place good administrators want to be.

  2. It's miserable and toxic, and not getting better anytime soon. I took early retirement, and a financial hit, because I just couldn't take it anymore.

    1. Thank you for being honest. The only way the school system can get better is if people speak up. The Board Chair and certain parent groups have to stop creating a miserable climate for staff.

  3. It wasn't the board chair or the parent groups. It was entrenched central office personnel, back room deals, old boy/girl politics. It is very hard to give 150% and see incompetence rewarded.

    1. If that were true, you wouldn't have to retire because they are retiring in droves!

  4. It is interesting that the Board is trying to get rid of administrators who actually show up and work as opposed to the ones who don't even show up and who don't work. What is that message supposed to tell everyone?
