I just want to know if this is true. Someone, whose name will remain anonymous, told me that a certain BoE member would not be able to work even as a volunteer in the NPS system because HR would do fingerprints and that person would be told no way. Is this true? This is not an attempt to ruin a person's reputation, just want to know the facts. Any lawyers know the truth?
All I know is that I had to be fingerprinted at the NPD so I could volunteer at my child's school. I had done some stupid stuff as a kid and asked if they were looking for any past criminal offenses.
ReplyDeleteI was told that the only thing that would prevent me from volunteering (where I'd be alone with the kids) would be if I had an open case involving violence or an open protective order against me-- or if I had committed some really violent crimes in the past.
From what I read in the papers, the new member has some sort of public nuisance rap that's open. I'm no Perry Mason, but I don't think that will stop him from volunteering-- but the librarians might have to remind him to use his "indoor voice".
