Why the Silence?

Speaking of what the superintendent is up to, I am sure we all want to know what the latest decision is. Is she taking a leave of absence or not? Will she be back? Is she making any demands? Buyout? What is all the silence about? I'm only guessing, but based on the past, I'm thinking something is going on. What is everyone else thinking? Are you thinking, 'How much is this going to cost us this time?' Talk to me.....

  1. I heard she is definitely taking a leave and it is not for family reasons, but for professional ones. Very disappointed as I had high hopes for this woman.

  2. Do you think she is leaving and not coming back?

  3. If she is coming back, I would suspect she'll make some demands. If she is leaving, I would think she would want a buy out. I'm only guessing, of course. But what makes her any different from our past superintendents? So I guess you could say it's an educated guess.

  4. I read Sue Haynie's comments-- she's saying that Marks wants to leave because she doesn't have UNANIMOUS LOVE AND DEVOTION.
    Marks has never corrected her.
Is connecting the dots really that tough?

  5. She could be playing games with the Board. She wants unanimous love and devtion during an election time. Yes, there are dots to connect. That's my opinion!

  6. Playing games? A superintendent playing games with the Board of Ed? Like when she threatened to cut Freshman Sports to try to save her friend who was the ineffective Director of Elementary Education?
I'm shocked, shocked, that there are games being played on the third floor of Central Office. Time to round up the usual suspects.

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if one of her demands is to get her friend back in central office!

  8. Well, I hope she doesn't demand an end to anonymous backbiting, ill-informed speculation and a generally pissy tone of discourse, 'cause that clearly ain't gonna happen.

  9. Welcome to the new site, Ms. Anonymous! Guess you've been waiting for the opportunity to use your sophisticated and erudite vocabulary. Is 'pissy' even in the dictionary?

  10. Thanks for the kind welcome! And yes, "pissy" is even in the OED, though the faint-hearted be warned -- it's labeled as "vulgar slang"....

  11. I would have thought we would have heard something about the superintendent's leave of absence at last night's board meeting. We didn't. I strongly suspect the board doesn't even know whether she is staying or leaving. In the meantime, there is no leader for the school system from what I've heard. Would the corporate world put up with this? I doubt it. Board of Ed, do something!
