Not a Fair Chance

It was heard at a PTO Council meeting that Mike B., Board member, stated if Tony Daddona applies for the superindendent's position, Daddona would not get his (Mike's) vote. Law suit? Hostile environment? Not a fair chance? What is your opinion? At the very least, it's an irresponsible comment, in my opinion.

  1. Mike should not be on the committee or allowed to have a vote if he is coming in with a judgement prior to interviews.

  2. I second that! No vote for Mike.

  3. If this superintendent search yields the status quo, rest assured the state will take Norwalk over due the bullying tactics of the adults and the disregard for students. They are watching and it just a matter of time.

    1. Laughable Apple-speak!
The state has no plans on taking over Norwalk. Education Commissioner Pryor praised Daddona when he announced Briggs was in the running for a big state turnaround school grant.

    2. The few Apples left are alive and still kicking, as evidenced by the comment that the state will take over. LOL Everyone is happy with the Interim, including the state. End the scare tactics, Sue and Lisa! Your days are over.

  4. Lucky for Norwalk we got rid of a superintendent who was all about protecting friends ("cronyism") and who never held any of her administrators accountable (the "status quo").

  5. Mr. Daddona has stated in the past that he does not want the job. Then, suddenly, there is all of this talk about him secretly lobbying for the position. Do we really need a leader who needs other people to convice him to step up to the plate?! Does a real leader with the strength to lead a struggling school system need his ego stroked in order to even want the job? What's with the passive aggressive behavior?
I think Mr. Daddona is a nice man and perhaps he is a good administrator. However, is he the right person for the job of superintendent? We need someone who will restore faith in our schools and ultimately bring young families back to Norwalk. We also need someone WITHOUT political affiliations in Norwalk who will hold everyone accountable. Interesting how those who have something to gain from him staying in the position are the ones defending him and encouraging him to apply. If he wants the job then tell him to step up and fight for it and tell us why he should get it; in HIS own words.
I liked Susan Marks. What was so scary about a woman who wanted to bring innovation and progress? Did she go against the whole "well, this is the way we've always done it" mentality?
