  1. It has been rumored that Mike Nast is returning as Interim Superintendent. As I recall, Nast did nothing but support the administrators in central office who were the weakest of the bunch.

  2. FYI The Red Apples control the PTOC. They want full control of the NPS. They have an agenda. On the list is to bring back the former principal of Nathan Hale, the one who segregated blacks from the white kids.

  3. To 10:49... why even go there? This country is falling apart because of racial issues. As far as NPS, seems like nobody knows what the h--- they're doing nor do they care what the h--- they are doing. Is it like this in all school systems/country wide? You can't get a straight/correct answer from anyone!
It's no wonder Dr. Rivera is bailing out.

  4. Rivera is bailing out to a system exactly like Norwalk.....battling Board, many critics, micromanagement. His reasons are personal.
What about racial issues? Perhaps we have a real problem. Let's face them head on and not push them under the carpet anymore. Yes, the racial problem exists in every inner-city school district. For once, let the minority communities lead the way out of the problems. We don't need a bunch of white PTOC do-gooders telling the minority communities what is good for them. Let's have that conversation right here.

  5. Norwalk Public Schools need the constructive input of people of all colors to close the achievement gap. Everyone should repudiate the outright racism displayed by the person who commented at 7:01pm.

  6. Where is the outright racism in 7:01's post? That the Black community should have a say in what is good for their community? I don't get it.

  8. Honey, that's not racist. The PTOC is coming across as if they know it all and want the Black community to thank them for their ways of doing things. What it is is condescending on the part of the PTOC.

  9. Quoting from the definition of racist: "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race". Guess you should call the dictionary editors and have them change the definition.

  10. ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
The era of "The Old Way" has moved on to the future of "The White Way" in Norwalk.

  11. hAVE YOU READ THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR BY IRENE SIKORSKI, THE CHAMPION OF THE TONY DADDONA FAN CLUB?
After having read that I wondered if she was for real or joking? Come on now, under the direction of TD,
no curriculum was developed, and in some areas more than a decade of no revision, yes 4million recoverec, but why was it lost in the first place, under his leadership, more programs cut, and anything innovative squashed. We know how much she has been the writer and editor for more than live letters to the editor of the Hour.
This is part of the ole way in Norwalk--move on and do what is right for all students of all colors!
Get leadership with a vision and not tunnel vision.

  12. Exactly 7:00 p.m. Where did that $4 million go to. Plane parts for a certain employee? Purchase orders approved but for no reason? Then to top it off, jobs were cut, hours lost and that's how it was recovered? Give me a break. This was all under a certain person's "watch"!!! Guess who?

  13. I think you need to get your facts straight. What your saying is not true. I will research it and get back to you.

But "THE OLD NORWALK WAY" is now "THE NEW NORWALK TAR AND FEATHER WAY."
So far, three Board members, Ditrio, Daddona and Moore have been tarred and feathered on NON and here. That's six people who have publicly experienced the NEW NORWALK TAR AND FEATHER WAY. What progress the Apples and their fans have bestowed on Norwalk! Does cruelty and bullying get any better than this?
It is most difficult to believe the taxpayers want THE NEW NORWALK TAR AND FEATHER WAY in their city. But then, most of Norwalk is too gullible and too afraid to stand up and say the new Norwalk way is not for them.

  14. In my opinion, Rivera has fanned the flames of the new Norwalk tar and feather way in order to take the blame off of him abandoning Norwalk.

  15. Sounds like racism and age discrimination as well.

  16. Wow, what has Rosa Murray done for black students in her 20 years on the BOE? Seriously, what has she done?
