On Susan Marks Leaving

Susan Marks appears not to understand that she is finished.....ended her time in Norwalk...no longer superintendent. I have heard that she is busy appointing best friends to positions (Can you believe Carol M. to the interim assistant's position) and making decisions that are no longer hers to make. She is leaving a mess behind for the Interim superintendent! Also heard was that she and Haynie have been tied to the hip making these decisions. Susan, it's over! Say good bye.......And Susan and Lisa, it has been heard that the Red Apples will be applesauce under Daddona. The party appears to be over.

  1. The Red Apples will lead to more problems then solutions. They have an agenda and that does not reflect the city's hopes and abilities. The Apples represent the "1% ters". They have no idea how or what goes on in the classroom.

  2. Yes, anonymous. You are so right on target. What is mind boggling is why they stay in a diverse citY such as Norwalk when they clearly don't have the best interests of all children in mind. Not only that, but Haynie was absolutely rude to Reverand Dancy (sp.?) at the last Board meeting. Haynie is above the law. Did you know that the State has a compliance issue with Norwalk because of the minority classes that Haynie so strongly supported? But Haynie doesn't feel the law applies to her or what she wants.

  3. It is not news that Haynie is not a nice person-- heard lots of stories when she was running about rude comments she would make about the people she was running with. My sense is that she has no respect for the faith community and she is a patronizing paternalistic individual who doesn't appreciate the minority community.
What is news is that Marks is just refusing to leave- she really thinks she deserves some influence in Norwalk. Too bad.

  4. I heard Haynie is pushing the search for a new superintendent at a breakneck speed. She knows Superintendent Daddona will call for accountability and will NOT listen to Haynie's hateful and stupid advice. If a different superintendent is appointed in Jan/Feb, I can just imagine the reject Norwalk will inherit because of the 'quick' search! And, of course, Haynie will be the one to find him/her and will seek another friendship with the person in power. Would someone PLEASE stop this from happening?

  5. Susan Thomson, glad to know your group enjoys such negative attention. Norwalk is a wonderful, diverse community. If you and Haynie don't like it, don't live here. Board of Ed, take your time finding the candidate who fits Norwalk. We have made too many errors not to take the time necessary to find the right person for the job. . Tie a scarf around Haynie's nasty mouth if you have to. Just stop her from flapping her jaws!

  7. A Marks Cheerleader and Angry Jack Apologist on The Daily Norwalk Voice (or whatever the title of that rag is) asked why people didn't like the Apples. Another one argued about how great Susie Marks was and how the big bad unions stopped all her good stuff.
OK- so we have people who get their news from fairy tales---
But, here are a few reasons why the Apples are a blight on Norwalk:
    1. They include Sue Haynie as a big mucka-de-muck. Sue Haynie abuses her office as a Board of Ed member by demanding reports from central office staff and then giving them to the Apples.
    2. The Apples fought against the capital improvement to Rowayton and Naramake and Cranbury.
    3. The Apples never once held Marks accountable- they showed that they were hypocrites.

Why Marks should have been fired if she hadn't quit:
    1. Two years of secret raises and promotion to her friends.
    2. Never once held a principal accountable and she had at least two who should be fired.
    3. She never held anyone accountable- not for the Tanya McDowell debacle, not for the insurance account problems, not for all the special ed department cost overruns.
    4. Started projects and "work groups" but didn't finish ANYTHING.
    5. She wanted the Board of Ed to support a proposal from the state superintentendent's association that would shift the burden of proof to parents in special ed cases-- that would have been a crime.

    1. Whoever you are, you know the truth. I second what you are saying. It is the truth.

    2. Amen to that--- Marks should have been fired. Is anyone else wondering when the RedApples will announce that she's joined their "group"?

    3. Lol! I thought Susan Marks was their puppet. Are puppets welcome in their group or are they against them too?

    4. They claim that they are for puppets but against the puppet union.

  8. Marks' deficiencies are well-known to any of us who work in the system. What a travesty that one week before school starts and we are finally learning about teacher and assistant principal assignments. Once again, Susan Marks showed that she had no ability to manage a school system. Her "planning" was poor at best.
Does anyone else find it laugh-out-loud-hy-sterical that Marks wanted her BFF as Asst. Supt and promised her the job.
I may have to go to the BOE meeting when that vote is taken just to watch the Apples crumble when they finally get it that they don't have a friend in the Central Office.
Apple crumble and humble pie- now that's a just dessert.

    1. Teacher's pet no longer has anyone who wants her around! She certainly chose the wrong person to brown nose. And the wrong group to support. No more Apples, sweetie Pie! Your time is over too. Time to move on to another district. Maybe you can find one that needs a garden planted.

  9. I vote for a new Superintenent who will come in and clean house. I'm sick of the nonsense, backstabbing and political b.s. Real teachers have lost their jobs. Administrators have left the district. Oh yeah - and there's no end in sight because the nonsense continues. Shame on all of us who have let this happen to OUR schools!!!

    1. The nonsense continues? Marks just left the district and you are already saying the nonsense continues? The backstabbing occurs when a bad leader is in charge. Give the new superintendent a chance, for heaven sakes! Is there no room in your thinking for patience? Or perhaps you are the angry bitter Apple person who is afraid that Daddona will ignore you.
