This blog is for your topics too. Your turn again......

Just a reminder, unless you identify yourself, I don't even know who you are.

Don't be shy, I promise you are anonymous.

  1. Here is a thought, why must the Red Apples, Lisa Thompson harp on Steve C. He is a great leader and balances City tax payer needs with the needs of school system.
However they bash Steve and Lisa can't make a statement about our school system with mentioning Bruce Mellion.

Pack your bags and leave, take your negative ideas and thoughts with you.

    1. I will even volunteer to pack her bags for her if she takes Haynie with her. Good riddence to bad garbage.

  2. I appreciate the support that some of the posters on this site offer (and the honest criticism offered by others). And, I seem to be at the center of an experiment in factual alchemy by some (you know, where they see how many times they have to say the same lie before it's transformed into an accepted truth).
But, as Andres Roman and I work to raise the caliber of debate on the issues, and to highlight our commitment to open and honest discussion of the critical issues (as opposed to shouting bumper-sticker slogans and hunting for a blame agent for all that pains us as a school district), we'd like our friends to refrain from calling the other side "garbage", or from engaging in the same tawdry tactics that some on the other side are starting to use early in this fight.
    Thanks.

  3. Has anyone else been following the attack on Colarossi and Roman by the Republicans?
The two dads say they're running to stop political party influencing the Board of Education. Then the head of the Republicans attacks Colarossi for not letting politics influence his actions on the BoE.
Could you make this stuff up?

    1. The craziness makes you wonder why the GOP and the RedApples have their knickers in a twist. Can it be they are all figuring out that Sue Haynie stands for nothing and has nothing to show for 4 years on the BoE?

  4. New Topic.. NEON Forum,
How can any one take Vinny seriously? He re-phrases anything the other 2 had to say. He hasn't outlined one stance on anything yet, but he STANDS for everything. Norwalk Now needs a plan.

    1. The pictures in Nancy on Norwalk show an earnest but scared youngster. Without his posse, Vinny doesn't have much of a "wow" factor.

  5. Can anyone tell me about the Dem candidates? Who is Geraldo Williams? What does Heidi Keyes have to show for her 4 years on the Board (not being nasty, just don't follow it that closely)? Does Haynie have a chance?

    1. I have my doubts about the R's and the D's. They both have slates with people who don't like each other. My prediction is that Roman and Collarossi take the first two spots with Kassimis and Sherelle Harris next.

    2. Isn't Sherelle Harris a RedApple?

    3. She is for raising the bar and closing the achievement gap. If that makes her a RedApple then so be it!

  6. I agree, and hope Collarossi and Roman take 1 and 2. Also thinking Haynie and Keyes are done.....which is as it should be. (I am avoiding nasty comments, per your request Steve)

  7. Am I wrong to want people on the BoE who answer to us? I'm not saying I want them to take a survey before every vote. I just want people who have the sense to ask us what we think. When you send an email to the BoE, who responds? Have you ever gotten a response that made you think your email was read?

  8. Only from Mr. Collarossi.

  9. Great discussions! I am hoping that all these people who feel strongly about their candidates will definitely vote. We all know every candidate will be working hard to get 'their' people to the polls.

    1. Any chance "Educated Yesterday" sponsors a candidate forum?

    2. Online? Candidates are welcome to post here. Are you saying there should be a separate topic?

  10. Just read an interesting post from Democrat-Republicapple-Party-of-the-Smart-People Bruce Kimmel. He claims that the City "fully funded" the Board of Education's operating budget. Maybe the vortex swirling around him with his party switches confused him. But the BET took away over one million dollars to pay-off old insurance expenses. That forced the BOE to make over one million dollars in cuts to the operating budget. Must be something in the Kool-Aid.

  11. If you have a moment, plesae read the interview with Norwalk Community Values candidate ANDRES ROMAN, which is at Nancy on Norwalk (http://www.nancyonnorwalk.com/2013/08/independent-party-boe-candidate-wants-to-give-his-kids-what-he-had/).
I know I'm a little biased, but the article shows Andres as the dedicated dad and public servant who will fairly serve Norwalk's families, children, parents and taxpayers.
