Anonymous Speaks

Maybe we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Here are a few truths.

Lisa Thompson is a liar. After the election, she wrote one of her publish-everywhere letters to the editor to claim that Artie Kassimis was "a Republican who, by all accounts, seems more aligned with far left BOE Dems than members of his own party". Look at his votes for BOE leadership over the years and you'd know that this is a lie.

The "RedApples" are tiresome with their constant spin. Last year, the Apple spin (which Mike Barbis repeated) was that over half of Norwalk's students were reading below grade below- the CMT results show how FALSE that claim was. The members of the RedApples have never told the public a single bit of reform that "reform minded Susan Marks" ever proposed. Collarossi called them out every time they spewed their lies about him. But guess what, they never answered with any proof.

The spin of Lyons, Chiaramonte, Barbis and Keyes has made us dizzy. We know that Rivera wasn't their fist choice. We know Chiaramonte should have resigned when he missed months of meetings this summer. We know Lyons should have passed the baton to Kassimis to rebuild trust on the BOE.

Lisa Thompson and her "group" cheated in the election. It didn't make a difference. But they still cheated. Connecticut law says that candidates (like Harris, Keyes, Haynie and Rosato) can't work with more than one campaign committee. The law says you can't take campaign help from anonymous sources (like free advertising). But if you saw the big posters at the polls, you'd see that they were working with some anonymous group that Lisa Thompson takes credit for.

The "civility" police are hypocrites. Supporting the superintendent is their mantra-- but "they" excused the constant attacks on Dadonna when he was interim. Anybody wondering where the outrage is over Mike Barbis' mean tweets?

We know Lisa Thompson is congenitally dishonest. We know her "grass roots reform movement" has few followers. We know that they are willing to lie, insult, distort history, twist facts and bury us with tweets, blog posts, etc. We don't trust them. So it's only natural that we don't trust the politicians "they" support.

  1. Lets look at @4:30's comments paragraph by paragraph
    .
So Lisa Thompsons a liar because she stated Kassimis was to far left. Kassimis was backed by Ditrio, Mellion and Lynn Moore. He was also nominated by Rosa Murray. Nuff Said? You are the liar @ 4:30
    .
Collarossi called them out as liars, huh? Well known fact that Steve Collarossi was so far up Ditrio and Mellion's back side that no one could tell where they ended and Steve Collarossi began. Yeah he was a real union mouthpiece. So well to be believed, that nether party would endorse him. You can't spin this @ 4:30

"The spin of Lyons, Chiaramonte, Barbis and Keyes has made us dizzy". The only reason you're dizzy is you've been partying with the Mayor of Toronto. Rivera was a top choice how ever you look at it and he was endorsed by this board and recruited for the superintendent job. Period. Chiaramonte went away for a few months to work to help with his daughters education bills. Rivas has gone MIA from meetings more than anyone. You don't mention that though, do you? Why let facts get in the way? Lyons passing the baton to Kassimis? You'd like that to, wouldn't you? Not while he's endorsed by the three stooges, Ditrio, Mellion and Moore.

So you claim Lisa Thompson Cheated during the election. LOL! Guess you missed the shenanigans of Ditrio and Mellion. My, my how preoccupied you are with Lisa Thompson, a mere citizen. She is a citizen who can support whoever the hell she likes. It just seems to piss you off because she backs the people who the voters care to elect and not your phonies. Take the binky out of your mouth and grow up already!
    .
Civility? Ha! Anyone ever watch the Steve Collarossi show? And after that meeting last week, you have the nerve to talk about civility? Civility....Got Some? In your case, Get Some!
    .
You say "We know Lisa Thompson is congenitally dishonest". Well we happen to know that you are just a dishonest genital (pick either one). You want to write nasty lies and pick on a woman who works for the betterment of our schools, then you'll be treated with vile remarks as well. It is you, along with Ditrio, Mellion and Moore who lie and bully. Yes, bully. Just as you all did to Shirelle Harris. We all know what you did to her. Shame on you! You are a bunch of hippocrites and you know it. All your spin, lies and bulling didn't get you anything. Do us all a favor, if you can't contribute to our children's education, dry up and blow away.

    1. Unfortunately we have someone who has decided to use vulgar terms and someone who appears to be quite disturbed. This is a warning to this person. Continue this way, and I will have to remove your comments. Your vulgarity will not be tolerated by the readers. If anyone other than this person disagrees with my decision, please let me know. I do not like to censor, but there are times when it becomes necessary.

  2. Just look at the double standard this site is setting. "not so quite educated yesterday" had the nerve to post a rant, and a nasty one, against Lisa Thompson, a woman who dedicates herself to improving the school system. Not only does "Not quite educated yesterday" posting attack her integrity, he/ she attacks several board members that he/she tarnishes by calling them apples. On top of that, "not quite so educated yesterday" then starts a new thread with this disgusting, insulting rant as if it were a piece of poetry. Amuzingly this rant talks of the lack of civility, but makes no mention of the meeting last week at all. You have proven that this site is aligned with -the unions and the likes of the barkings of Steve Colarossi. Apparently "not so educated yesterday" can dish it out but can't take it. What a double stard you have shown. Despicable!

    1. Ha! A woman who dedicates herself to the school system! Ha! Tarnishes school board members by calling them Apples. (They ARE Apples). I guess everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. Did Educated Yesterday hit a vein? Looks like the Apple lovers are bleeding out.

    2. Just look here "not quite so educated yesterday". Seems its ok for this person to chastise others and for you to post that silly rant, then threaten to remove others without your point of view. Hmm. Guess someone's vein did get hit and is bleeding out, but its not the apples.

  3. LOL! In your Dreams! No vein hit here. Just telling it like it is. Here's another one for you WE WON! All you sour apples can choke on that. Bleeding out! ha Ha. What an ignorant person to make that remark. You can sit here and rant all you want and I will call you out on it. Fact is the "apples won" and you didn't. And on top of it, made all you "sour apples" look foolish.

  4. Someone makes a comment that's borderline vulgar, and you call them disturbed while threatening censorship. Someone else refers to the Board of Ed as a bunch of fruits, and you say nothing. Clearly a double standard.

This blog is an embarrassment to NPS's many hard-working professionals, the overwhelming majority of whom display far better attitude and education than what is reflected in the comments here.

  5. The Apples are flooding the blog with posts containing accusing remarks that are either distorted or out and out lies. They are inundating our readers with posts in the hopes that their reality will become the readers' realities. I would hope that our readers are intelligent enough to realize that we are getting this reaction from the Apples because the Apples don't like transparency. They don't want you to know about back room deals or alliances. I agree that a nerve has been hit and they are reacting.

I wrote about vulgarity in a post because a person who commented referred to genital parts and was swearing. To me, that's a far cry from calling someone a "fruit."

Flood the blog all you want. We are here to stand up for transparency and the truth. Guess we got a reaction because the truth hurts your group. The more you react, the more the truth becomes evident.

    2. I don't think it is Collarossi. Know why? He's too savvy to tempt a slander charge. I do think whoever it is does know the truth. Guesswork doesn't get you anywhere. You lose your credibility that way. My opinion.

  6. Anonymous Clearly you have an OPINION at least have the hutzpah to put your name on it. People that make remarks and don't own them shouldn't be taken seriously.

    1. Carolyn, with all due respect, people who tell truths that are supposed to be secrets need to remain anonymous. I am sure you mean well, but if I was revealing information told to me in confidence, I wouldn't want the wrath of secretive people against me.

  7. When an election is over, winners shouldn't gloat and losers shouldn't begrudge the victors their success. And I say that not merely to encourage good sportsmanship, but because the continuation of election cycle rancor undermines the ability of a body to engage in the meaningful debates and compromises that are critical to their serving the public good.

That's why, as upset as I was when the record of my friend Artie Kassimis was distorted (with a recent reference to his having more in common with the left wing of the Democrat party than with the members of the Republican party of which he is a proud member), I didn't offer a response as I did not want to contribute to the on-going post-election raw emotion and frayed nerves. Nor did I respond to some of the initial comments about my proximity to certain public school employees' derrieres (as if the poster was there with a tape measure). You see, when the people habitually attacking you can't even spell your name properly, you do start to wonder if anything you say will really have an impact on them.

However, having been dragged into this most recent screed, I felt some sort of response is necessary (although it's hard to muster much interest in reading and responding to many of the same tired and baseless distortions I heard in my four years in public life and which have been repeated here with the same resistance to veracity).

The Norwalk Community Values party line did far better than the pundits expected- in fact, it looks like we may have met the threshold to be a permanent third-party. Our goal is to succeed by showing Norwalkers that a non-partisan approach to governance can better reflect our shared values. Advancing that positive message doesn't require calling out the shortcomings of others. It certainly is not furthered by attempting to cast wide swaths of voters, political party members or elected officials as either demons or angels, or engaging in the relative morality advocated by others on these sites. And as a member of a group trying to highlight that honest debate based upon facts should serve as the basis for voting (as opposed to bumper sticker slogans and party "loyalty"), I bristle reading the same tired and false over-generalizations that appear here and on other blogs. I cringe that so many of the post-election commentators (whether named or anonymous) rely on spin rather than bona fide facts and only contribute to the polarization among the multiple factions which are emerging in Norwalk.

Whether it's from a Tilt-a-Whirl or Ferris Wheel, spin serves little purpose other than momentary entertainment. But, as the ancient Romans learned at the time of bread and circuses, entertainment can't help resolve serious issues (like the ones confronting our schools). So that's stop the amusement rides and let the elected Board of Education get back to addressing the needs of our families, students and taxpayers.

    1. Thank you, Steve. May I quote your comment for the next topic?

    2. Mr. Colarossi, I must take issue with your reference to the "Democrat party" in your comment. That misnomer has long been a favorite dig used by some (especially conservative) Republicans who wish to subtly communicate their contempt for the Democratic Party. While it may seem to some like a minor thing, it is akin to a political or courtroom opponent consistently and deliberately mis-pronouncing your name, just to convey disrespect and get under your skin. I am hoping that this was either a typo or something other than a deliberate use of this term; as it is, it is jarringly out of place in a piece that otherwise asks people to treat their opponents and the issues with greater respect.
